Lindsey Murphy Portfolio

My professional adventure

Lindsey Murphy is a lifelong resident of Indiana born just north of Fort Wayne in Kendallville. She
graduated from Ball State University in 2020 with a BA and on the Dean’s List whilst in the midst
of lockdown, submitting her finals online after campus shut down. She has almost a decade of
experience working in customer facing industries such as retail and food service which has
prepared her for the professional world by teaching her how to engage with people properly. She is
currently a first year graduate student at Ball State University working toward her MA in Emerging
Media Design and Development where she has been learning important skills such as data analysis,
user experience research, and user interface design.

Ball State University Library Resource Application

Ball State University’s Bracken Library is large and maze-like in structure, especially to new students who are unfamiliar with it. There are no maps posted anywhere within the building that might help with this navigation issue. Upon further research through interviews with students at the university it was also discovered that many don’t take advantage of any of the events available at the library and many don’t know what different materials are available for check-out either.
